Defensive errors contributed heavily to United's league defeat at Watford on Tuesday evening.
In the re-arranged Championship fixture at Vicarage Road, the Blades contributed to their own downfall, gifting Tom Cleverley, Heidar Helguson and Don Cowie goals.

United moved back into the Championship's top six and boosted the goal difference column with a victory over former bogey side Reading.

Richard Cresswell's second half goal - his fifth in Blades colours - was enough to secure a deserved home victory over Middlesbrough.
The striker stooped to convert Andy Taylor's cross to ensure the impressive run of late continues.

Jamie Ward's late goal against Preston ensured that United go into the New Year ideally placed to make a promotion push.

It was a poor night for football with the cold and rain. Both teams strughgled during the first half , neither of them having many shots. Things improved after half time with united having sevral chances. Forest goalie ( lee camp) making 3-4 good saves. None of the teams did enough to score so the score finished 0-0.

Darius Henderson smashed home a hat-trick - including a last-gasp winner - in a thrilling encounter at Ashton Gate on Saturday.
It looked as though United had surrendered a 2-0 lead when Alvaro Saborio netted a leveller in injury-time but Henderson secured hero status with a winner after the five minutes of added time had elapsed.
